Huge media interest: Opel CEO Florian Huettl announces the repositioning of GSE for the electric age at the IAA Mobility – with more performance and electric driving pleasure.

Two World Premieres
and a Motor Show Debut

The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo and the new Opel Mokka GSE both celebrated their much-publicised world premieres at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. However, the exhibition also marked a first for Vice President Future Product Vanessa Repp. It was her first major public apperance since taking up her new role almost exactly one year ago.

During the press conference that kicked off Opel’s impressive presence at this year’s IAA mobility, Vanessa Repp was playing very close attention to what her fellow members of the Executive Board Opel CEO Florian Huettl, Vice President Marketing Rebecca Reinermann and Vice President Mark Adams had to say about Opel’s stunning world premieres. For Repp, the real job starts now. As Vice President Future Product it is her job to translate the innovative ideas featuring on the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo into serial production models of the future.

Still concealed: Opel has brought two world premieres to the IAA Mobility in Munich.
Vanessa Repp, Vice President Future Product, celebrated her debut on the big stage.
Vice President Marketing Rebecca Reinermann emphasises that the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo brings the next GSE chapter to life – for everyone.

800 hp for everyone! The concept car can be driven in the racing simulator ‘Gran Turismo 7’ soon.
“The Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is our vision of the GSE future – and more,” promises Vice President Design Mark Adams.

“The Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo gives a preview of the design of future Opel models and at the same time demonstrates our commitment to the small car segment. It has a similar footprint to a Corsa but is considerably lower and wider. The Corsa has been the bestselling small car in Germany for the last five years – we want to defend this dominant position going forward,” said Repp.

So, will we see a Corsa GSE in the future? Or electric all-wheel drive on more Opel models? Will the numerous clever aero solutions such as the aero-optimised bonnet, the aero curtains in front of the front and rear fenders or the aero blade fender flares feature on the next generation Corsa? Repp remains diplomatic on all the questions.

The musician will.i.am took a seat in the concept car, Advanced chief designer Florian Theis explains the details.

The Grandland Electric AWD celebrates its public premiere in Munich – the brand’s first electric all-wheel-drive vehicle.
Interview with Opel CEO: Florian Huettl is a sought-after interview partner among media representatives.

“It is obviously too soon to reveal which elements will appear on future models,” she says with a teasing smile before adding: “As a German brand, we do everything with a purpose. There will be more news on GSE coming soon and development of the next generation Corsa has already started.”

But the first phygital concept car with the Blitz was by far not the only topic the Vice President Future Product was grilled on by journalists. Will the Frontera also be available with all-wheel drive in the future? What developments will we see in battery technology going forward? When can we expect some news on the Astra? Repp navigated all these questions with a smile – without revealing any details. “It is too early to comment on this at the moment. But stay tuned – we will share any news as soon as it becomes available.”

Centrally located in the city of Munich: Visitors are greeted by an impressive 7.5-metre-high cube in a yellow ‘pixel look’.
With a pre-release version of Gran Turismo 7, visitors can experience the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo in a racing simulator.
The Opel Mokka GSE Rally is a fully electric, next-generation rally car developed for professional racing.

Elsewhere, the Opel booths at the so-called Summit and Open Space also attracted interest from well-known car enthusiasts and rally drivers. For example, will.i.am, best known from hits such as ‘I Gotta Feeling’ with his band The Black Eyed Peas eagerly climbed into the concept car and listened carefully to the explanations provided by Chief Designer Florian Theis.

In addition, rally drivers Calle Carlberg, who was recently crowned European Rally Junior Champion in the Corsa Rally4, and Luca Pröglhöf, last season’s ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’ winner also took the opportunity to have a close look at the latest concept car from Rüsselsheim.
