The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is Opel’s first concept car to merge the digital world with the real world. The high-performance show car will not only celebrate its world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2025, but will also be able to be experienced and driven by anyone in one of the world’s leading racing simulators – Gran Turismo 7 – soon.
Opel is thus taking its tradition of visionary studies to a new level. For six decades, the Rüsselsheim-based company has been showing concept vehicles at the International Motor Show that demonstrate where brand, technology and design are headed.

1965: Experimental GT – The First of its Kind
At the IAA in Frankfurt, Opel surprises with the first ever European concept car. The Experimental GT breaks with conventions: flat front with pop-up headlights, strongly tapered body line, sharp spoiler edge at the rear. The press is delighted, as is the public. Just three years later, the study became the production GT – a pioneer in sporty design.

1969: Opel CD – Luxury of the Future
The Opel CD (Coupé Diplomat) is a two-seater based on the Opel Diplomat, but far ahead of its time: fiberglass body, a pivoting canopy instead of doors, multi-spoke alloy wheels, adjustable steering column and even telephone handset in the centre console. The CD makes the future come alive.

1983: Opel Junior – Light, Economical, Clever
The Junior does not rely on horsepower, but on efficiency. A curb weight of only 650 kilogrammes, a drag coefficient of 0.31 and a consumption of 4.0 litres per 100 kilometres. In addition, it comes with clever details: seat covers that can be used as sleeping bags or a stereo system that can be removed. The Junior is an early anticipation of sustainable mobility in the small car segment.

1993: Opel Scamp – Corsa with SUV DNA
With the Scamp, Opel shows a concept that will later shape entire vehicle classes: increased ground clearance, folding top, space for four people. In the rear: fittings for bicycles or sports equipment. A Corsa as a recreational vehicle – a B-SUV before the term was invented.

2001: Opel Frogster – One Car, Many Faces
Bright green, compact, versatile. The Frogster can be a roadster, convertible or pickup – made possible by an electric aluminium roller blind roof. Also new is the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), centrally located in the dashboard. It serves as a wireless remote control and forerunner of modern smartphone integration.

2011: Opel RAK e – Electromobility for All
The RAK e addresses the topic of electromobility at an early stage. A tandem 2-seater with lightweight architecture, a range of 100 kilometres and a top speed of 120 km/h. Designed for young drivers aged 16 and over and with an affordable price level in mind. The RAK e is thus a forebear of today’s city electric vehicles such as the Opel Rocks.

2013: Opel Monza Concept – digital und modular
With the Monza Concept, Opel opens a new chapter at the IAA. Gullwing doors, LED projections in the cockpit, car-to-car and car-to-X communication: visionary technology for infotainment and connectivity. In addition, a modular architecture for various drive concepts – from electric to CNG range extenders.

2023: Opel Experimental – clear, electric, iconic
At the IAA Mobility in Munich, Opel presents the Experimental: bold design, intelligent aerodynamics, highly efficient use of space. For the first time, it wears the illuminated Opel Blitz emblem at the front. Just one year later, the element goes into series production – in the new Opel Grandland.

2025: Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo – Reality meets Digital
Now the next step follows. The Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo combines physical presence and digital experience. In Munich as a real concept car, a few weeks later it can be experienced virtually worldwide in Gran Turismo 7. With well thought-out aero solutions, breathtaking performance and a clear commitment to electric high performance.
