The GM Foundation donated $75,000 to Save the Children Deutschland e.V. for initiatives aimed at helping the children of refugees. The mission of the children’s rights organization is to improve the lives of underage refugees in Germany.

GM Executive Vice President & President Europe Karl-Thomas Neumann presented the check in Berlin together with Joachim Koschnicke, who heads European Government Relations at the Rüsselsheim-based carmaker.

“The commitment of Save the Children cannot be underestimated, especially in the context of the current refugee situation. The organization can use every cent,” said Neumann when he presented the check at Child Friendly Space. The safe space and playroom was set up in the refugee residence in the Tempelhof district in December 2015 for young refugees to play, learn, and be creative. Most importantly, they receive assistance in overcoming the often horrendous experiences they have gone through.
