MARCH 2014 Easier, safer, and less stressful. This is how it will feel to drive with the OnStar network service. Opel plans to introduce this technology to its car models in selected European markets starting in 2015. And how does it work? Customers receive a router, based on the Long Team Evolution (LTE)  mobile communication standard, inside their vehicle. This can be used as a WLAN hotspot for up to seven devices, thus offering a high-speed Internet connection. At the same time, the router provides a dedicated line to the OnStar call and service centers, who keep the car and its driver on their radar at all times. They are always there for you to provide breakdown assistance or support when your car is stolen.
