High Performance Then and Now

At the Klassikertreffen Rüsselsheim on September 13, Opel Classic will showcase extraordinary models spanning almost 100 years.

A special venue will make its debut: for the first time, the Klassikertreffen Rüsselsheim will take place around and inside the historic Opel Schmiede on Mainzer Straße – fittingly in the year of its 90th anniversary.

Opel Classic is bringing along a rather unusual mix: the 1928 RAK 2 rocket racing car, a historic Blitz-Drehleiter DL 18, a Rekord Caravan command vehicle and the Rocks e-XTREME. Representing modern high performance is the new Corsa GSE with 281 electric hp. Kadett and Astra models from various decades complete the line-up.

Sunday, September 13, 10 to 16, Opel Schmiede Rüsselsheim.

Electric hot hatch: The most powerful production Corsa of all time puts 281 electric hp on the road.
Small but extreme: The spectacular concept shows just how adventurous the electric Opel Rocks can be.
Rocket power on wheels: With 24 solid-fuel rockets, Fritz von Opel caused a sensation in the RAK 2 on Berlin’s AVUS in 1928.
